Equations of Disease is an online training platform specialising in mathematical and statistical methods in epidemiology and ecology. We provide free training to learners from the Global South. Equations of Disease operates as a social enterprise and is a registered community interest company (company number 12799124).
Our paid for courses are currently only available to learners in the U.K. Our micro-courses cover small topics and are free for all. We are continually updating materials and welcome feedback or suggestions for new topics. Get in touch using the contact form or suggest a topic.
Equations of Disease is run by Dr Amanda Minter:
I created Equations of Disease (EoD) to support the next generation of epidemic modellers.
Before setting up EoD, I worked in infectious disease dynamics research for 8 years. I taught R, statistics and mathematical modelling at University of Warwick, UK, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, University of Malaya, Malaysia, Federal University of Bahia, Brazil and the University of Leeds, UK.
The mission of EoD is to provide high quality, accessible training to learners in the Global South in support of decolonisation of global health.
